Foundation pledges assistance to Sulu children

SULU – The World Vision Development Foundation has pledged to provide learning kits to children in at least six municipalities in the southern Philippine province of Sulu.

Members of the global humanitarian organization led by Reynor Imperial, manager of humanitarian and emergency affairs, met with Governor Sakur Tan and discussed the educational assistance to the municipalities. 

Tan, who championed various literacy programs here, welcomed the endeavor of the World Vision Development Foundation, saying every citizen should have the right to education. 

He also added that values education should be instilled in the educational system as he believed that taking care of manners and culture is a way of education. 

Among those in the meeting were members of Imperial’s group Robert Carlo Cajipo, education specialist; Don Jorge Aarcos, disaster management officer; Nur-aisha Gonzales, division ALS focal person; Salip Bensal Buttongah, division ALS alternate; Harson Ladja, ALS (Alternative Learning System) implementer; and Troman Hapalla and Adzmer Bibing, ALS implementers.  (Mindanao Examiner)
