Book launching sa Fort Almonte archaeological exploration, gipahigayon

TUBOD, Lanao del Norte - Gipahigayon ang report ug book launching sa archaeological exploration sa Fort Almonte nga nahimutang sa lungsod sa Bacolod.

Ang maong report ug libro gibuhat sa University of the Philippines School of Archeology nga importante sa pagpropose sa classification sa Fort Almonte isip National Cultural Treasure sa National Commission for Culture and the Arts.

Gitukod ang Fort Almonte niadtong 1891 ug gipangalan  sa spanish admiral nga si Pedro de Almonte Verastegui, kinsa nangulo sa mga kampanya sa kolonisasyon sa Mindanao ug Jolo niadtong 1639.

Subay sa excavation nga gibuhat,  1,217 artifacts ang nadiskubre sa maong fort. Sama nalamang niini ang ceramics, metals, animal bones, glass, shell, apog, plastic, cloth, stone, ug uban pa.

Plano sab sa provincial government nga ibida kini sa ginatukod nga provincial museum. 

“We've been  excavating and exploring the site, and no gold was found. The only gold we found there is the Fort itself, and that is the heritage, the treasure, and the precious gold that we have in Lanao del Norte," sumala ni Dr. Leee Anthony Neri, project leader sa UP School of Archaeology.

Plano sab sa provincial government nga maghimo ug replica sa maong site aron mahimo kining tourist destination ug ma preserba ang maong heritage.

“It's going to be reconstructed, and the history of this will be part of the tourist destinations for the province of Lanao del Norte.  Malaki po talaga ang pasalamat ko sa inyo, and I am sure that sa pagpartner namin sa munisipyo ng   Bacolod, rest assured that it will be realized and we will really take good care of it," sumala ni Governor Imelda Quibranza Dimaporo.

Sumala sab ni Department of the Interior and Local Government Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Bruce Colao,  dako ang   potensyal sa Fort Almonte nga maghatag ug benepisyo sa ekonomiya sa probinsya kung mahimo kini nga tourism site.  

Dako usab ang papel sa DILG sa implementasyon sa proyekto pinaagi sa paggamit sa plataporma sa Local Governance Resource Center, diin nakig-alayon sila sa provincial government,   munisipyo sa Bacolod, barangay local government unit, ug Department of Education, ug nagpahigayon ug  mga miting.  

Samtang, komitado sab si 2nd District Provincial Board Member ug Committee on Tourism Chairperson nga si Haron B. Omar, Jr., sa pagsuporta alang sa mga inisyatibo ug sa paghimo sa gikinahanglan nga mga balaod sa pagpanalipod  sa Fort. (Lou Ellen L. Antonio)
