TAWI-TAWI - In an effort to improve the livelihoods of coastal communities that rely on fishing, the Office of Member of Parliament Atty. Jet Lim initiated the installation of a solar-powered ice plant in Languyan town in Tawi-Tawi province.
The solar-powered ice plant is funded through the
Transitional Development Impact Fund of MP Lim in partnership with the Ministry
of Interior and Local Government.
By utilizing solar energy, the facility ensures uninterrupted ice production, which is important for preserving the freshness of caught fish in remote coastal areas.
The facility is expected to boost the income of
fisherfolk while also creating employment opportunities for the residents of
the municipality. (LTAIS-Public Information, Publication, and Media Relations
