Human rights lawyer brings Bangsamoro Electoral Code to Supreme Court

MANILA - Human rights lawyer Algamar Latiph and civil society organization leaders Arlene Sevilla and Amenodin Cali have filed with the Supreme Court a “Petition in Intervention” to the pending Petition by Atty. Dimnatang Pansar to declare as unconstitutional the Bangsamoro Electoral Code passed by the Bangsamoro Transition Authority.

SULU – Muslims from Sulu, Basilan, Maguindanao, Tawi-Tawi and Lanao del Sur provinces in the southern Philippines have rallied behind their governors who have joined mayors and other stakeholders in questioning the constitutionality and legality of the Bangsamoro Electoral Code.

Bangsamoro people hail approval of electoral code

COTABATO CITY – Muslims and Christians, including the Indigenous tribes in the autonomous region in Mindanao, lauded the Bangsamoro Parliament for unanimously approving the BTA Bill No. 29 or the Bangsamoro Electoral Code which will ensure that regional elections are honest, credible, just and free.

COTABATO CITY – The Committee on Rules of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority is set to present before the plenary the committee report on the proposed Electoral Code, which seeks to provide the structural, functional, and procedural principles of elections, plebiscites, referenda, and recall proceedings in the Bangsamoro region.
