WHILE AIRPORTS elsewhere in Mindanao, Visayas and Luzon do not charge parking fees on motorcycles and cars, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) in Zamboanga City not only imposed parking fees at the local airport, it also raised the amount unjustifiably from P10 to P22.40 now.
Even those who are only picking up or dropping passengers at the Zamboanga International Airport have to shell out money to pay for the parking fees and CAAP charges P11 for each motorcycle passing through and P22.40 for cars, vans or pickup trucks. The amount also included 12 percent Value Added Tax.
