MNLF denies Nur endorsed Pacquiao

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Moro National Liberation Front, whose chieftain Nur Misuari signed a peace deal with the government in September 1996, has denied endorsing presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquaio.

Misuari praises Duterte, support to peace efforts in South

DAVAO CITY – Nur Misuari, chieftain of the former rebel group Moro National Liberation Front, praised President Rodrigo Duterte for his untiring and sincere support to the peace process in an effort to ensure the government’s commitment to the 1996 peace deal with the MNLF.

“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and I have met at least 16 times already, and I am impressed by the dedication of our President to fast-track the implementation of the peace agreement,” Misuari said.

'No ID, No Entry’ in Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY continues to implement a tighter security to ensure peace and order following lifting of martial law in the whole of Southern Philippines.

Mayor Beng Climaco ordered security forces to ensure public safety and not give terrorists the opportunity to sow fear. The City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) to which Climaco currently heads also decided to continue the strict implementation of the “No ID, No Entry” policy in Zamboanga.
