Kabasalan folks band to protect, sustain environment

ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY – Villagers and stakeholders in the town of Kabasalan in the southern province of Zamboanga Sibugay have turned an impoverished coastal community into a bustling center of development and environmental conservation.

In the village of Concepcion, they worked hard for the re-emergence of marine resources – fighting illegal fishing and mangrove planting in Sibuguey Bay.

Livelihood program set for T’bolis in South Cotabato

KIDAPAWAN CITY – The Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) has pushed for a sustainable livelihood program for indigenous people in South Cotabato province in southern Philippines.

PEF signed a memorandum of understanding with the United States Agency for International Development, the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Industry (PFIDI), United Maligang Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (UMFMPC), Joscual Trading and the local government of T'boli.

PEF, Coke Foundation sign water project for Mindanao

SULTAN KUDARAT – The Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF) and Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines Inc. (CCFPI) signed a new partnership agreement to boost water supply for thousands of villagers in three project sites in Mindanao.

The second phase of the Scaling Up Program for Social Enterprises on Water Services or SCALE UP Water will provide residents of Kalamansig and Lebak towns in Sultan Kudarat, and Bansalan in Davao del Sur with potable water through a grant of P12.7 million.
