PHILIPPINE NATIONAL Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Archie Gamboa, on Thursday ordered the PNP Retirement and Benefits Administration Service (PRBS) to update records of pensioners and register them in its 'nationwide accounting with biometrics'.
The PNP has set its third nationwide accounting of the remaining 21,223 pensioners who were not able to update in the calendar year 2019 and failed to avail of the initial 'nationwide accounting with biometrics' from February 27 to March 13 and the updating of records from March 14 to May 11.
Gamboa ordered Col. Arthur Bisnar, Acting Director of the PRBS to modify and streamline the process of accounting of pensioners to fit the new normal situation; adhere to the community quarantine guidelines and protocols of the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) and protect pensioners who belong to the most at-risk and vulnerable age groups.
"To make it more convenient and safe for Pensioners, Tracker (Track-care) Teams of the Police Regional Offices (PROs) and PRBS will be visiting them at their last known address. Minimum health standards and protocols shall also be observed," Bisnar said in a statement.
On May 12, the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) ordered its Records Management Division and the PRBS to provide service records, absorption papers and retirement orders of its 21,223 pensioners to reduce the documents required from them.
Police Commissioned Officers will also administer the affidavit of undertaking in case a notary public is not available due to the quarantine.
Directors of all Police Regional Offices (PROs) have already organized and deployed pensioner tracker teams to locate, account, and update the pensioners.
In a related development, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, Maj. Gen. Debold Sinas, activated the PRBS Satellite Office in NCR in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan. Sub-satellite offices in Metro Manila's five police districts will be subsequently organized.
Bisnar encouraged all concerned pensioners to communicate with PRBS for any inquiries through Hotline Numbers: Globe – 0977 714 5263; Smart – 0961 899 0928; Sun– 0931 064 4316; and TM – 0953 413 5924.
Pensioners must provide the following information in their text message: Pensioner’s Name, (Name of the Deceased PNP Spouse, if applicable) and their current address.
The Landbank pension accounts of pensioners who will not be accounted for and update their records by June 7 will be placed on “tag and hold” status.
It means their pensions will continue to be credited to their accounts but they will not be able to withdraw until such time that they are accounted and updated.
