MAYOR BENG Climaco led officials in the ground breaking ceremony of a housing project promised by President Rodrigo Duterte to the victims of a huge fire in Barangay Labuan in July 2018.
Climaco and Al Indanan, of the National Housing Authority, together with Barangay Labuan chairman Ronaldo Maravilla, including Rep. Jawo Jimenez were among those who joined the ground breaking at the Sea Breeze Subdivision.
The P163.78 million project is being undertaken by the NHA through the Nurben Engineering and Building Construction and sits in a 36,062 square meter lot purchased by the City Government.
The project will house the remaining 273 families out of 411 families displaced by the fire. The phase 1 of the project at the same area has 138 housing units which are expected to be inaugurated next year.
Duterte visited Labuan on July 26, 2018 just a few days after the fire
razed a neighborhood in the area and promised those displaced by the blaze that
he would build them new homes. (Zamboanga Post)
