ZAMBOANGA CITY - A one-of-a-kind book on basic fingerprinting for law enforcers, lawmen and even criminal lawyers, is now off the press.
Atty. Prisco Bar Santos, farmer-turned-policeman, fingerprint expert, lawyer and regional director of several probation offices in Mindanao, has just completed the publication of his book titled: "Fingerprint Study Quick and Easy" and it is available in book paper and newsprint editions.
The book, considered rare, is complete with illustrations and sample criminology examination questions.
Philippine Ambassador to Timor-Leste Abdulmaid Muin described the publication as a “well-researched book on Fingerprinting ever written by a Filipino.”
Muin also said that "this book is a handy reference for the Bench and Bar, Police and Probation officers and is an excellent textbook for students taking up dactyloscopy as taught by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Bureau of Investigation."
The 143-page book, Philippine Copyright 2021, is full of illustrations that can easily guide students and lawmen on fingerprinting in the modern world. The book contains 21 chapters and illustrations and bonus examination questions on the subject dactylography or fingerprinting.
Santos said that he will be coming up with more editions depending on the disposition of the initial 1,000 copies, most of which have already been contracted for by law and law-enforcement schools in the region and even in Metro Manila.
