IN AN effort to strengthen legislative ties between the Bangsamoro Parliament and local government units in the region, the Office of the Parliament Speaker (OPS) started giving a series of lectures on policy and legal research to local government officials and employees in Lanao del Sur.
The lectures series is aimed at
boosting partnerships between the Bangsamoro Parliament and the LGUs in order
to raise awareness on the Parliament and produce legislative measures that are
“directly responsive to Bangsamoro’s communal problems.”
During the activity, resource
speakers from the BTA offices explained to LGUs of feasible approaches for
engaging them in policymaking processes. They also provided inputs on bill
drafting.
The same intervention will be
carried out by the Parliament through the OPS in different provinces in the
region.
Said activity is in partnership
with the Policy Research and Legal Services, OPS Planning Division, Statutory
Committees Support Service, and the Provincial Government of Lanao Del Sur.
