COTABATO CITY - The proposed P55.768 million Bangsamoro Attorney-General’s Office (BAGO) budget for fiscal year 2024 has been approved at the sub-committee level.
This approval follows a thorough
review and scrutiny of the budget by the Committee on Finance, Budget, and
Management Sub-committee K, chaired by Deputy Speaker Atty. Paisalin Tago.
According to Atty. Sha Elijah
Dumama-Alba, Bangsamoro Attorney-General and Floor Leader, the BAGO’s proposed
budget for next year has increased by 14% to P6.678 million.
It will cover the office’s
operations, which include case litigation, legal research and
interpretation/opinion, legal representation and coordination, the Shari’ah
strengthening program, intergovernmental relations body services, and special
legal projects.
The Bangsamoro Attorney-General
holds an important role as the chief legal counsel of the Bangsamoro
