New fuel system to boost Cebu air traffic

All passengers safe as Korean Air aircraft overruns Cebu runway

ALL THE 162 passengers and 11 crew of a Korean Air aircraft from Incheon are reported safe after the plane overran the runway at Mactan-Cebu International Airport late Sunday, the airline confirmed on Monday.

BOC Mactan sub-port passes ISO audit

CEBU CITY – The Bureau of Customs Sub-port of Mactan has passed the surveillance audit for ISO 9001:2015 certification, a requirement to maintain the certification from the international standard-setting body composed of representatives from various national standards organizations.

Cebu now requires negative RT-PCR tests

CEBU – International travellers whether Filipino or foreigners arriving at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport are now required to present negative RT-PCR test results taken within 48 hours before departing from their country of origin, and this is on top of their vaccination card.

GMCAC completes debt deal, to save P4.5-B for airport ops

CEBU CITY – The GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC) has completed a debt rebalancing deal with its lenders and said it will save P4.5 billion in cash in the next 3 years to sustain the operations of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA).

CEBU REP. Pablo John Garcia (3rd District) said Mactan-Cebu International Airport will still be called by its name, clarifying local newspaper reports claiming that House Bill 8986, approved on third reading before Congress went on recess on March 18, seeks to rename the airport to Lapulapu International Airport.

Cebu airport eyes more domestic flights

CEBU CITY – With the complete renovation of its Terminal 1, the multi-awarded and Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) is expected to open domestic flights, said Louie Ferrer, president of GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC).

He said the P1.8-billion renovation started after the opening of the new MCIA international terminal (Terminal 2) in July 2018. It was completed in August 2019.
