Fearing Covid-19, Zambo mayor suspends air, sea, land travels
ZAMBOANGA
CITY – After barring all ships from Malaysia, Mayor Maria Isabelle Salazar now has
suspended all land, air and sea travel to Zamboanga City in southern
Philippines as part of an urgent measure to prevent the entry of the deadly
coronavirus disease, or Covid-19.

Zambo has no nCoV cases, but 8 people placed under monitoring
EIGHT PEOPLE are now being monitored here for any symptoms of the deadly Wuhan coronavirus due to their travel history to China where the virus emanated, although health authorities said Zamboanga City has no confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus or nCoV.
The City Health Office (CHO) said the 8 persons under monitoring (PUM) are on 14-day quarantine period. The nCoV is a new strain of coronavirus not previously identified in humans. It affects the respiratory tract.

Face mask sa Zambo, sold out!
OUT OF STOCK na ngayon ang mga face mask sa ibat-ibang botika at pagamutan sa Zamboanga City dahil sa panic buying ng publiko sa gitna ng pangambang mahawa sa deadly Wuhan coronavirus mula sa China at kumalat sa maraming bansa, kabilang ang Pilipinas na kung saan ay may naitala ng casualty at maraming pasyente pa ang inoobserbahan ng Department of Health.
Sa kabila ng kakulangan ng supply ng face mask sa Zamboanga, sinasamantala naman ito ng ibang mga online sellers sa Facebook na nagbebenta sa mas mataas na halaga mula P20-P150 ang bawat isa. Nasa P2.50-P5 lamang ang regular na halaga ng face mask bago pumutok ang isyu ng coronavirus.

Zamboanga tops anti-polio campaign in Region 9
THE SECOND round of Zamboanga’s anti-polio campaign was successful, according to Mayor Beng Climaco who said over 112,000 children below 5 years old were vaccinated.
Zamboanga City achieved the highest number of children vaccinated in Western Mindanao followed by Dipolog City in Zamboanga del Norte with 107.9% and Pagadian City at 107.8%.

Tight guarding for Wuhan coronavirus in Zambo
‘Mayor Beng urges residents to maintain
cleanliness, hygiene’
MAYOR BENG Climaco has urged residents in Zamboanga to always maintain cleanliness and good hygiene practises as the local government took steps to prevent the entry of the Wuhan coronavirus here and protect the public’s health.
Dozens had died and thousands are feared infected by the deadly virus which broke out last month - although it was first reported in December - in Wuhan, the capital of Central China’s Hubei province and spread in other countries by people who contracted the coronavirus, also called nCoV and symptoms include nasal congestion, headache, cough, sore throat, and a fever.
